Why owners choose us
What makes the difference, in plain terms.
No pressure, no vague promises — just a clear account of what we do well and why it matters for a watch in your situation.
← Back to HomeWhat you can expect from the workshop
Six things that shape how every piece is handled, regardless of service type or price.
Full Written Assessment
Every watch receives a documented condition report before work proceeds. You'll know what we found and what we recommend — with no obligation to continue.
Costs Agreed Upfront
The service price is confirmed before a single tool is picked up. We won't exceed that without a fresh conversation and your agreement.
Coastal Climate Know-How
Years of working in Phuket means we understand how salt air, humidity, and tropical heat affect movements and seals — and where to focus attention first.
Warranty on Service Work
Standard servicing and maintenance is covered by a written warranty, so you collect the watch with a clear understanding of the protection it carries.
Vintage & Heritage Care
For inherited and collectible pieces, we offer patient assessment and restoration that honours original character rather than imposing modern polish.
Kept Informed Throughout
Longer projects, particularly restorations, involve regular updates. If something changes, you hear about it before we act — not after.
Professional Expertise
More than fifteen years of movement work
Pranee Atelier was founded by a watchmaker who spent over a decade repairing mechanical and automatic watches before opening the Phuket workshop. That experience — built across different climates, movement types, and service situations — informs how the team approaches every piece that arrives.
The focus is mechanical work: winding and setting mechanisms, escapements, mainsprings, and the lubrication systems that keep everything running within tolerance. This isn't general repair work; it's a narrow specialism, approached with the attention it requires.

Client Experience
An unhurried, respectful process
Owners aren't expected to know watchmaking terminology or to arrive with a prepared diagnosis. The intake process is a conversation: what you've noticed, how the watch is worn, and what matters to you about the outcome.
From that starting point, we build the service around what the watch actually needs. The team is bilingual and accustomed to working with both local owners and international visitors who may be in Phuket for only a short time.
Value & Pricing
Transparent pricing from the first conversation
Service prices are set by type — ฿4,400 for standard maintenance, ฿7,500 for water resistance and seal work, and ฿14,600 for complete vintage restoration. Where a piece may require additional work, this is discussed and agreed before proceeding.
There are no call-out fees and no charge for the initial assessment. If you decide the work isn't right for you after hearing the findings, you collect your watch and owe nothing.
Assessment and intake consultation at no charge.

What sets us apart
A few things you won't find everywhere, and why they make a practical difference.
Built for the Andaman coast
The workshop opened in Phuket specifically because coastal watch ownership presents distinct maintenance challenges. We've spent years learning how the environment affects movements, lubricants, and seals — and how to address that effectively.
A restoration plan you agree to
Vintage restorations begin only after a written plan is reviewed and approved. This sets out the scope, cost, and timeline before a single component is removed — giving you full visibility and control.
No assumption of what you want
Not every owner wants the most thorough option. Some want a watch running again; others want it as close to original as possible. We ask rather than assume, and work accordingly.
Visitors welcome
We regularly work with visitors to Phuket who have noticed a problem with their watch while travelling. If turnaround won't fit your itinerary, we'll say so clearly and suggest the most sensible alternative.
