Watch parts and tools at Pranee Atelier

Three services, each at its own pace

The right service for your watch, explained plainly.

We work on mechanical and automatic watches in three focused ways. Each is suited to a different situation, and we'll help you work out which applies.

How we approach each piece

Before any work is agreed, we take time to understand the watch — its age, how it's worn, and what the owner hopes to achieve. That conversation shapes the service that follows.

Assess

A thorough look at the condition of the movement, case, and crown — documented in writing for your records.

Agree

Scope and cost are confirmed with you before work starts. Nothing is added without another conversation.

Work

The service is carried out at the pace the watch requires, with updates on longer projects and a final check before collection.

Service 01

Service & Maintenance

A careful service that opens the movement for cleaning and fresh lubrication, followed by regulation so the watch keeps steadier time. Recommended periodically to help a well-loved watch run smoothly for years — which is especially helpful in a coastal climate. Suited to owners who wear their watch often.

We share an honest condition note, raise any future concerns gently, and provide a service warranty on the work. Turnaround is usually a few weeks.

What the service includes:

  • Full movement disassembly, cleaning, and ultrasonic wash
  • Fresh lubrication to manufacturer-grade oils
  • Regulation and timing check across positions
  • Condition note and written service warranty
  • Note of any further concerns found during work

Process steps:

  1. 1Initial assessment and condition note
  2. 2Cost and scope confirmed with owner
  3. 3Disassembly, cleaning, and lubrication
  4. 4Regulation, timing check, and reassembly
  5. 5Collection with service warranty document

Service 02

Water Resistance & Seal Service

A practical service for watches worn near the sea or in daily life, focused on restoring the seals that keep moisture and salt air at bay. We replace gaskets, attend to the crown and case back, and test resistance where the design allows.

Recommended for dive-style and everyday pieces in a coastal setting. Any required parts and costs are confirmed before work begins, keeping decisions with the owner.

What the service includes:

  • Replacement of crown tube gasket, case back seal, and crystal gasket
  • Crown and stem inspection and re-seating
  • Water resistance pressure test (where design allows)
  • Honest advice on safe water contact afterward
  • All parts and costs agreed before proceeding

Process steps:

  1. 1Assessment of seal condition and crown integrity
  2. 2Parts identified, costs confirmed with owner
  3. 3Gasket replacement and crown service
  4. 4Pressure testing and resistance verification
  5. 5Advice note on future water use provided at collection

Service 03

Complete Vintage Restoration

A patient, in-depth restoration for vintage and inherited watches needing more than a service, including movement rebuilding, replacement of worn components, and conservation of original detail. The aim is to return the timepiece to dependable use while honouring its history.

Recommended for treasured and collectible pieces. Each restoration begins with an unhurried assessment and a written plan agreed with the owner, carried out at the measured pace such delicate work deserves.

What the restoration covers:

  • Full movement disassembly, inspection, and rebuild
  • Replacement of worn or damaged components
  • Conservation of original case detail and finish
  • Written restoration plan agreed before work starts
  • Updates throughout longer projects

Process steps:

  1. 1Unhurried assessment — no charge, no commitment
  2. 2Written restoration plan and cost presented to owner
  3. 3Work begins after written agreement is signed
  4. 4Regular updates shared as restoration progresses
  5. 5Final timing check and case inspection before collection
